Ice available at Oakbank Arena Jan 16 @ 630pm, Saturday Jan 18 @ 9am and Sunday Jan 19 @ 1130am. If interested please reach out to Greg @gstrutynski@gmail.com
When an On-Ice Official is yelling "Play the ring" or "Sticks down" it is usually because there is an infraction occurring that is illegal, but has not yet caused a material change in advantage - and therefore there is no penalty to be called yet. (see The First Principle of Officiating).
Often this is due to using your body or stick to interfere on a play, or due to over enthusiastic checking that is getting too high - up near the hands, etc.
When you hear an Official calling these phrases out, consider what you're doing and pull back if you think you're at fault. If a material change of advantage does occur - you're likely to get a penalty.
The following flow chart shows the process for cancelling games. Please note that WRL will review all cancellations and may issue a fine. More details can be found in the WRL regulations.

VIDEO:
The video will be available on Roger’s Shaw TV sometime in January. We are currently working on the editing and post-production aspect of the video from all 4 broadcast cameras. We have the play by play & color as well as the one on one interviews. The one on ones are the holdup as we are adding the players names etc to the bottom third, and that takes some time.
The videos will be broadcast on Roger’s Shaw Community Channel, hopefully, late January. A week after the release, we will post it on-line, for those without a subscription to Roger’s Shaw to view.
